Women Working in Technology 2021

9:00am to 4:30pm - Networking
Throughout the conference, all attendees will have the opportunity to hang-out in our "Lobby," getting oriented to the virtual space. This will be open all day. We will have open hours for meetups and time scheduled for specific topic discussions. These will run in parallel to the breakout sessions. Details to follow.

9:30 am to 10:00 am - Speed Networking

You won't get to meeting everyone, but you will get to connect with some new folks to build your network.

Technical: Algorithmic Justice with Krista Ewing, Senior Learning Systems Professional, Humana
Have you considered how AI systems are developed? And, who develops them? And, how much agency, we as users have in AI environments? Krista will talk about the impacts of AI biases. And provide resources to help us shift the AI ecosystem towards equitable and accountable AI.

 Personal: Transformations - Working from Home Panel Discussion, The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Moderated by Dr. Anna Stumpf, with Panelists Antoinette Mann and Loren McCrady.


Professional: The Power of Allyship, with Samaria Chicas, Associate, JP Morgan Chase, and Efosa Ogbomo, Senior Product Solution Advisor.
What does it mean to be an ally? Join Efosa and Samaria for this breakout session where we'll review the meaning of allyship, what actions we can all take to be better allies, and have an open discussion on the power of active allyship in the workplace.

Professional:   A Model for Having Difficult Conversations with Ray Sylvester.

Technical: Ethical and Humane Use of Technology with Christina Zhang, Manager, Ethical and Humane Use of Technology at Salesforce

  

Learn How and Why the Office of Ethical and Humane Use at Salesforce was founded, our guiding principles, and key focus areas of our work across product policy, design, and development. We'll then dive deeper into our product ethics work, or what we like to call "Ethics by Design."
