Women Working in Technology (WWiT) strives to promote and empower women in the field of technology. The foundations from which we operate are a focus on connecting, educating, and inspiring individuals in their educational and professional pursuits. WWiT’s members (women and men) work with girls in middle school and high school to encourage them to study STEM related fields, and with college students to support, educate and inspire them as they enter professional careers. We seek to act out our foundational goals with community outreaches, an annual conference for professional development, and monthly educational sessions for college students.
Established in 2008 by the Center for Information and Communication Sciences (CICS) at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, The WWiT initiative is also supported by the College of Communication, Information, and Media. In addition to the generous support from CICS and CCIM, WWiT has gained other generous sponsors who align with our core values. It is our goal that together with our sponsors, WWiT can encourage current technology professionals and impact the professionals of the future.
